Weird Lang

Today is 08-08-08; for some, it’s something special. But I intend to spoil it, anyway

If there is such thing as being prone to ingrown nails, that should be me. I don’t know how many times I have endured the pain having to find the culprit scrap of a nail that wasn’t taken out as should have been. Hayyy, I really wish those times I could have a dose of anesthesia! Mavuang ko sa kasakit!

There was one instance when my sister was there to rescue; I was crying all the while she was tinkering with my swollen toe. As if I was watching an uber-drama special.

Makes me really wonder how I survived the throes of childbirth given my low tolerance for pain. It’s one of life’s miracles – one where I experienced pain of the extreme kind that left me extremely powerless and helpless. Well, even that is an understatement; I thought I was on my final moments. No kidding.

Well, I’m not trying to scare anyone who hasn’t been there yet. I just want to say that you should think a hundred times if you’re thinking of having a baby.

Wah! Kidding.

Find out for yourself, anyway. That first time was traumatic enough for me that if I would absolutely have it my sanest way, I will happily make do with one child. I might not be able to handle another round of it. Yes, I’m scared… to death.

Syve's Blah

Let me begin this piece by saying that I try to limit my TV viewing to programs that are truly entertaining and a bit educational.

Ay, duh! As if!

I’m actually checking on the latest on local showbiz online every now and then; I’ve had that passion for local artists since I was little. I even wrote to and got replies from some of them when I was younger (to mention one, it’s Donna Cruz). Yep, I was that fanatic that when I was in college and Judy Ann came to visit Ayala at the height of the Mara Clara fame, I was one of those who braved the siksikan crowd just to see her closer. Haha!

Anyway, lately my gossip sources (both text and video) are inquirer.net, gmanews.tv, and pep.ph. With gmanews.tv/video, I also get to see documentaries that I missed on TV, simply because with local TV, you really don’t get too see much quality shows so better skip the habit altogether... hmmm, save for some local showbiz programs. Hehehe.

But anyway, somehow I’ve outgrown the obsession for celebrities because I don’t watch local movies anymore; it even takes a lot of convincing before I watch a foreign film on big screen. Although it’s actually the kuripot side of me that is at work here. I would prefer waiting for the version that’s available online. Haha!

But let me share this one first that I've experienced lately -- celebrating the International Women's Day! So here goes my kudos to every woman out there... What an amazing creature God has made out of you!!! =]

At The Beginning of the Journey

Many of us go through our lives with countless ideas in mind on how to make our lives better. We occasionally do a rundown of the things we want to accomplish, say, in a year’s time or so. And sometimes we become so engaged in our own thoughts that we believe that someday, it will all come to reality. Someday.

But then all of a sudden, we pull to a stop in our tracks. We shake our heads in disbelief and sigh at how quickly we can get carried away, thinking about those things. A little later, we’re ready to leave the ideas altogether. What went wrong there?

You see, if our ‘buts are not too big’ (thanks, MarkJeee for the link), we would have been better than how we are now. Somehow, we have this responsibility of gaining wisdom at everywhere we turn to and finding answers in our own chase, and after which, sharing them with others.

Anyway, today is the wedding of my sister-in-law, Kimmy (Karl’s younger sis) in Dipolog City and Raj and I won’t be there to witness the event for some reasons. I just wish the couple wonderful years of life together. For truly, finding the person to spend the rest of our life with can be such a tricky enterprise and can sometimes take a lifetime to achieve.
